Ron Walker is the Founding Director of Clarion Wealth Planning. He works with high net worth business owners to provide a comprehensive, tailored wealth management service so they can achieve the lifestyle they desire and deserve.
Ron founded the company in 1985 and has guided it from strength to strength over the last 30 years. He is one of the architects of the modern financial planning industry and a founder member of the Institute of Financial Planning.
Prior to founding Clarion, Ron spent six years with a national wealth management company, which left him highly trained but with a deep-seated belief that clients both wanted and needed more than the industry was able to offer at the time.
Over his career Ron has built an outstanding reputation and now deals with some of the most interesting and wealthy families in the region.
Outside of the office Ron is a keen sportsman whose interests include running, cycling and kite surfing. The rest of his spare time is spent holidaying with his wife and two grown up daughters.

Jonnie Whittle is the Managing Director at Clarion Wealth Planning and works with business owners and their families to develop and implement plans that enable them to make the most of their success at all stages of their life.
Jonnie previously worked as Managing Director of a private equity-backed financial planning practice based in Manchester and London, as well as directing joint ventures with accountants throughout the North West. He specialises in the period around a business sale or liquidity event and he is well known for his collaboration with professional advisers at this stage. His approach is that of a “personal finance director” who incorporates clients’ individual, family and business affairs into a comprehensive, overarching plan.
Jonnie also sits on the board of NextGen Planners. An association whose sole purpose is to improve the delivery of financial services to the next generation of financial planners and their clients.
Jonnie is a former professional rugby player of both codes and holds a degree in Physics from the University of Manchester. Outside of the office Jonnie lives in Wigan with his wife and three daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys keeping active, learning new skills and being outdoors.

Steven Walker is a Director at Clarion who works with business owners and their families to help them create well thought-out financial plans and make well-informed decisions.
Steven started his career in financial services over 30 years ago, and before joining Clarion in the 1990’s worked at the UK’s largest mutual insurance company.
Being the longest serving team member of Clarion, Steven has been instrumental in creating Clarion’s reputation of expertise and delivery to clients and partnering with professionals.
He is a Chartered Financial Planner – the gold standard for professional financial planners in the UK.
Steven lives in South Manchester with his wife and two daughters. Outside of work he has a strong interest in history, music and films. At weekends, he can be found scaling to the slopes of the mountains of Great Britain.

Keith Thompson is the Non-Executive Chairman at Clarion. He works with the management team to help drive the delivery of Clarion’s long-term growth strategy.
After founding and managing Taylor Knowles Financial Planning Ltd, a leading financial planning business in Lancashire, Keith went on to become a founding director of Altrincham and London-based Greystone Financial Services. He spent more than 20 years at Greystone, acting as Chairman from 2001.
As well as his work with Clarion Wealth Planning, Keith also plays a leading role within its sister company, Clarion Investment Management. This business provides discretionary investment management services designed specifically for clients of Clarion Wealth Planning.
Keith joined the Clarion team because he respected their comprehensive approach to financial planning, putting clients’ long-term aims first and helping hard-working business owners articulate and then achieve what they want from life.
Outside of the office, Keith and his wife are active members of Hale Golf Club. Keith enjoys keeping fit and walking, particularly in the Lake District.

Michael Brooke is a Financial Planner who works with retired business owners and executives, arranging highly advantageous and efficient retirement plans.
Before joining Clarion, Michael worked at a national assurance company as regional pensions manager for the North West.
Michael specialises in retirement options, pensions and taxation. He is one of the most knowledgeable pensions experts in the financial planning industry, and holds every pensions and retirement qualification available from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Outside of the office, Michael is a keen tennis player and footballer whose achievements include coaching the Holmes Chapel Hurricanes under-13s, then under-14s, to back-to-back league and cup double wins. He is also an avid quizzer, and appeared on the BBC2 show Eggheads.

Adam Wareing is a Chartered Financial Planner who helps successful business owners, company directors and professionals overcome the complexity and stress of managing money. After helping clients to set and document realistic financial goals, Adam works with them to create a bespoke & comprehensive financial plan to help them achieve their ambitions.
As a holder of the prestigious Certified Financial Planner (CFP) accreditation, the international gold standard of financial planning, Adam passionately believes in the real value of goals orientated advice over traditional product sales based advice; he believes that this leads to much better outcomes for clients. It was Adam’s dedication to this belief that led to him winning the coveted IFP’s Paraplanner of the Year award.
Adam has over 15 years’ experience in financial services and, before joining Clarion in 2014, ran his own Lifestyle Financial Planning practice in South Manchester. As a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (the highest UK advice qualification) Adam is frequently asked to write articles for local, national & trade press; he’s written about a wide range of subjects but pension planning and estate / IHT planning remain particular areas of expertise.
As well as spending time with his young family, Adam has a number of interests including running and playing football. However, one of his biggest passions is coaching youth football as a parent-coach; he currently holds his FA Level 2 coaching badge and finds it particularly rewarding to see the children develop not only as footballers but as people.

Sam Petts is a Financial Planner who works with business owners and their families to develop bespoke, integrated plans in order to achieve their life goals.
Sam started in the industry at Caroline Banks and Associates in Mayfair and quickly developed key skills in delivering bespoke solutions to families. He then spent 12 years with Killik & Co, progressing to the role of Partner and Head of the Richmond Branch.
Sam specialises in intergenerational planning involving all members of the family, as well as utilising all available allowances in the most tax efficient means.
Sam is also experienced in forging essential links with key advisory professionals in the region.
Sam decided to join Clarion because it was important to “work for a company that prides itself on being a leader in their space, who have developed a service level for clients second to none and have the reputation to match”.
Outside of the office, Sam enjoys spending time with his young family, as well as watching Lancashire Cricket Club play and supporting local charities.
