True lifelong financial planning for the serious business of life.

True lifelong financial planning
for the serious business of life.

Clarion is in the business of true lifelong financial planning, not just financial advice. Here, one of our Chartered Financial Planners and Chairman of the Clarion Investment Committee, Sam Petts, explains what this means for our clients.
So, what does Clarion mean by true lifelong financial planning?

Sam said: “It starts with developing a bespoke individual financial plan for clients, working towards set objectives or goals they want to achieve. They will come into the process at different points in their lives, whether it is a young investor who wants to accumulate or make sure their assets are working as best they can for them, someone approaching retirement, or even someone who is post-retirement, who is looking at inheritance tax planning.

“At each different stage of that financial planning process, there will be a list of requirements that they will want. If it is someone with a young family, like myself, it would probably be protecting that family in the worst-case situation that’s going to be quite a high priority.

“You tend to find that a lot of clients who are employed have most of their benefits through work that will cover this situation for them, so we may be just plugging any of the gaps and supporting them to build up some regular savings for the longer term in the most tax‐efficient manner.

“So, we are looking at ISAs and pensions in the main, but it all comes back to their individual aims. The most immediate objective for someone younger will probably be trying to save for education costs for the children and then we would look at pension provision or paying off their mortgage, so it comes back to it being a bespoke service.

“We build the financial plan by putting together everything we learn about a client in our robust process of meetings, understand their current situation together with their future goals and review this on an annual basis to see what’s changed, what needs to be updated or amended through their particular life stage. “It all starts with the proven combination of our people, process, and technology which enables us to build a clear and thorough lifelong financial plan for our clients.”
