Meet Carole Loynd

What is your role at Clarion?

Adviser, Client Support

How did you take your first steps in to financial planning?

I took a secretarial position with one of the old Life offices in Manchester working for the Branch Manager.  I found the business so interesting that I started to learn all about the various products myself so that when a position came up supporting the Advisers I was able to apply.

What do you think Clarion offers its clients that makes us unique?

I think it is the breadth of knowledge, not only of our own business, but many wider aspects of things that affect business clients and the contacts that we have that we can call on if needed.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was about ten, I wanted to drive yellow JCBs on building sites!

Who has inspired you in your life and why?

My Dad.  He always looked for good in people and put others before himself.

What keeps you awake at night?

Nothing – as long as it is silent. Any kind of regular noise is torture for me. I even have to leave a watch in another room as I can’t sleep with the regular ticking and I’ve put clocks in wardrobes when staying with friends.

Describe your perfect weekend

Ambling along on my horse around the lanes of Cheshire and then pottering in my garden.

Spring, summer, autumn or winter?

Autumn.  I love the low sun light and the colours of the trees, and a big pile of dry leaves to kick just brings out my inner child!
