True lifelong financial planning
for the serious business of life.

At Clarion Wealth Planning, we place huge importance on long-term financial planning and the longevity of our client relationships.

But this month we are also marking 10-year milestones for three of our colleagues too.

Janet Crewe, Andrea Billington and Emma Nunnerley are celebrating their decade at Clarion.

Advisor Client Support Janet has been in the finance industry for 30 years. She shared her advice for those starting out in the sector: “Work hard, don’t try to cut corners and never underestimate the knowledge of your clients. Treat people how you expect to be treated and be totally upfront and honest. Never be frightened of admitting mistakes, we all learn from our mistakes and a small problem can become a big one if not dealt with immediately.

“I love the challenge, and the days go quickly as we are so busy, and the work is so varied. I feel that Clarion has always been a step ahead with the emphasis on lifelong financial planning. The compliance aspects, quality of advice and qualifications of advisers in the industry have improved enormously, and Clarion has always strived to employ the highest qualified, most ethical, and experienced people.”

Our operations support Andrea has provided the warm welcome every client receives at Clarion for the last 10 years. While looking forward to retiring this month, she said: “I have enjoyed the varied role, meeting clients, and hopefully I have made a difference when clients visit the office.”

Reflecting on the changes she has witnessed over her decade front of house she noted: “We moved from a small office in Knutsford to larger premises in Alderley Edge to accommodate the growth of the company. The industry has changed over the years with the implementation of the Retail Distribution Review in the early 2010s but the impact on Clarion Wealth was low as we had already implemented most of the requirements many years before.”

Associate Financial Planner Emma agrees that adaptability is a key part of the job. Emma said: “The industry is constantly moving in terms of changes in legislation, technological advancements, and reporting requirements. There have been many technological changes at Clarion in terms of cashflow planning software, new back-office systems, use of video calls for some meetings and even cloud-based telephone systems. It is all achieved through additional training and CPD (Continued Professional Development), as well as learning on the job.

“Clarion has grown considerably since I first started. There are more advisers since I started, and we have a good team structure in place. I value working as a team and the support Clarion has provided especially through the more difficult moments, such as working through lockdowns and achieving my qualifications.

“It’s the most amount of time I have ever spent at one company which feels like an important milestone. I’m excited to see how Clarion will develop and change over the next 10 years!”

Ron Walker, the founder of Clarion Wealth Planning, said: “I want to thank Janet, Andrea, and Emma for the commitment they have shown to Clarion over the last ten years. We emphasise long-term thinking to our clients at every step of their journey and to be able to support that with continuity in our team is of huge value. Congratulations on your Clarion decade, we are lucky to have you.”
