Our chairman Keith Thompson and Clarion Chartered Financial Planner Jacob Hartley sit down with colleague Ella Davies to discuss their careers and predictions for the future of financial planning.
Keith, with his 59 years’ membership of the CII, and 25-year-old Jacob, who qualified as the youngest Fellow four years ago, may seem poles apart but they share an aptitude for finance and a strong desire to help people.
In a wide-ranging conversation, they cover what key financial planning skills are going to be needed in the future, why clients are getting younger, and what – if anything – they would do differently in their careers.
And Keith reveals the importance of qualifications in this profession – even when you are in your 70s!
