Emma Nunnerley has more than 20 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector.

After administrative and trainee roles with companies in London and Manchester, and a break to go travelling, she joined Clarion Wealth Management eight years ago – and has never looked back.

What do you enjoy about working at Clarion?

“I have been lucky to receive a lot of support and encouragement from Clarion to advance my career and obtain qualifications. Achieving Chartered status in 2018 is the highlight of my career.

“I enjoy working closely with Chartered financial planner Sam Petts and adviser client support Carole Loynd, as well as the clients, and there is so much variety in the job.”

What do you think Clarion offers its clients that makes it unique?

“Everything we do is for our clients’ best interests. My Clarion colleagues and I are dedicated to that. All staff members care a great deal about our clients. We really do get to know them all as individuals and what they want, need and care about in order to provide the highest level of service and care that we possibly can.”

How do you deliver true financial planning?

“In order to deliver true financial planning, it’s really important to advise households rather than just one of the members of that household. Holistic financial planning and lifelong cash flow forecasting benefits whole families and helps plan for clients’ financial futures and goals.”

Do you have any advice for anyone who is considering a career in the financial planning sector?

“Obtain qualifications – and get involved in community activities. Apart from the mental health and social benefits, it’s amazing who you can meet in your local community and the breadth of knowledge available, all of which will help you to advance your career.”

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

“I enjoy running, yoga and spending time with family. It is important we take our own advice. We want to look after our clients’ financial wellbeing so they can enjoy the serious business of life, and we have to get that balance right in our lives too so we can provide clients with the high-quality service they deserve.”

Who has inspired you in your life and why?

“My dad inspires me all the time. His work ethic is incredible and since retirement he has thrown himself into volunteering in the local community, getting involved in environmental groups, the church and even helping people with their energy bills, and he cycles to all the meetings.”
